Bom Sabado hits Orkut

Wow Wow Wow!!! When I logged into my Orkut account today,I noticed some scraps written as 'Bom Sabado' sent from my account to my various friends.Its really shocking how someone can get into Google's social networking website 'Orkut'. It was the second attack on Orkut with the virus called 'Bom Sabado' which steals users passwords and send scraps from their infected profile to the friends in that profile.Bob Sabado means Good Friday.Till now,no official statement has came from Orkut or Google.Even my account also got hacked.
Users are advised not to log into their Orkut account even if their account is not hacked until this problen gets resolved.
But however it has been verified that this was done by some Brazillian hacker.

So here are some safety measures for Orkut users:
1.Don't login into your Orkut account till this problem gets resolved.
2.If very necessary to login & use Orkut,do it from your mobile phone's browser 'coz it run webpages without javascripts.
3.You can also be a victim by just seeing scraps sent from others profile to your account.So its good not to use Orkut for some time.
4.Change your Orkut password from here: Google Accounts.

In my previous post about Orkut,I have told you that Orkut has launched a new & improved version.But Orkut is providing only limited number of invitation for users,generally 5 invitations.But what if you wanna send more invitations to your friends???I have a trick for this.Follow me.............


Whenever someone sents you invitation,you also receive an email in your inbox.Simply forward that email to all your friends you wanna send invite and enjoy unlimited invitations...........
You can also replace your name before forwarding the email.

New Version Of Orkut launched[Updated]

India's most used social networking website www.orkut.com which is officialy owned by Google,has been moved to next version.Orkut has launched their new version with following features:


  • Fewer pages, faster browsing.
  • A clean, simple interface.
  • Greater personalization.


How to swtich to new Orkut????
There are two ways to use new Orkut:
1.Either join Poppy and Sashi Community by clicking here and get an invite from them.
2.Find a friend of yours who is already using new orkut.(An icon like will appear on their profiles)

Enable Right Click on other's Photos in Orkut

As we all know that social networking website orkut.com has disbaled right clicking feature on other member's photo to keep their privacy over the internet.But who says it can't be enabled back?????!!!!!!!


It could be,and infact,it is very easy to do so.In this post,I will show you how to do this in Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or higher version.If you want this trick for any other browser,then add a comment describing your browser name and version.

So lets get started without wasting further time.....
1.Login into your orkut account.
2.Now open your friend's profile on orkut whom's photo you wanna save to your PC.
3.Open up his album and then the photo you wanna save.
4Now when photo gets open,go to Tools>Options>Content.
5.Unders Contents tab,you will see Enable JavaScript and right after that,Enable Java option.
6.Uncheck both the the option and hit OK.
7.Now right click on the picture of your friend and see what happens.Whhhhhaaaaaaoooooo!!!!!!!!
Note:For using orkut again,or to save next image,you will have to again check both the options we have unchecked in step 5.
8.Then to save next image,again follow the same procedure.
